Trading Plan Template

A structured one-page document that pre-defines rules for all four pillars before the trading session begins

A trading plan template is the practical implementation of your framework. It answers every decision in advance: what direction am I looking (based on 4H structure mapping), where will I wait for price (4H zones classified by type), what confirmation do I need (mid-timeframe shift followed by 1m entry model), and how will I manage (stop placement, target, partials, breakeven trigger). The plan also includes operational rules: maximum daily trades (2-3), maximum daily loss (2%), news events that affect your pairs, and your specific trading window. If any of these decisions are made "in the moment," they become emotional decisions. The plan evolves through data — track results by pillar, identify the weakest pillar, adjust one variable at a time, give it 50 trades, and measure again.

How to Recognize

  • All four pillars are addressed: direction, POI selection, entry confirmation, and management
  • Maximum daily loss (2%) and maximum daily trades (2-3) are pre-defined
  • Targets come from 4H structure (not fixed R:R numbers)
  • The plan is filled in every morning before the session, not during

How to Avoid

  • Deciding direction, entry, or management "in the moment" (emotional decisions)
  • Not having a maximum daily loss or trade count (overtrading risk)
  • Using the same plan forever without reviewing and adjusting based on data
  • Changing multiple variables at once (can't isolate what helped or hurt)
